Sport Events
Few sports events give themselves to great panoramic photos. Cathcing a single moment is hard enough in any one direction, but catching several to justify a full spherical panorama is virtually impossible. On few occasions you can count on the crowd providing a spectacle, but often they are not allowed close enough to make them count.

Bike Jam : Mike Steidley | 2008-05-24
it seems impossible, yet Mike Steidley does it in front of your eyes. Jumps up onto a slab of wood 4 feet above the ground, from a stand-still. Or sinks himself from the top of his trailer onto the asphalt.
Oh yeah, i forgot to mention: he does this never leaving his bike.
Polar Bear Plunge 2008 |
2008-01-26
The Polar Bear Plunge takes place in the Sandy Point State Park in Maryland and, in essence, it's a fundraising event for the Maryland Special Olympics. Qualifying participants, those who managed to raise at least $50 in sponsorship dipped into the 36 degree water.
Additional events included HugaPalooza '08, resulting in a new Guinness record by Josh Speigel of local radio station 98 Rock. The germaphobe radio personality hugged 1000 people in an hour.
The event reportedly drew some ten thousand participants and netted three million dollars in all, in no small part due to Ellwood "Bunky" Bartlett, Mega Millions lottery winner's million dollar donation.

Upon setting the new Guinness record, it seemed only befitting that Josh Spiegel hugs Ellwood "Bunky" Bartlett, this year's Polar Bear Plunge's largest donor.
