Halloween
Halloween and Thanksgiving are my two favorite holidays so xxpect many more returns to these subjects.

It doesn't get any more challenging than taking up-close panoramics photos of moving objects. Nor does it get a whle lot cuter than this bunch, so i guess it's wash ;^)
Research At Its Best |

A fine group of scientists-by-day. Yet another proof that you don't get smart by going to school and reading books. It's all about hands-on experience. So quick, get your hands on another drink, and you will see how things start to make sense suddenly. Have yet one more - you shall know all
The Circus |

And to prove that truly all ages have been mobilized for a proper celebration of the exhibitionist in all of us, here is a slightly riper group . . .
Halloween 2008 |

There wasn't much to the Baywatch Girl costume really, nothing new at that. However, you have to admire someone who stayed in her blossoming character from start to finish: making her way to center stage (and off) in slow motion gallop and maintaining her toothpaste ad smile while posing for photographs by the stage afterwards.
Santa's Helpers |
2008-10-31
I thought the reason for me not getting any presents over several Christmases was that I did not make the list. It is no great consolation to know that I likely made it onto the list, even through the second check, because Christmas is all about the presents, isn't it?
Yet, if i were Santa and had the helpers pictured here, I would, too miss some deliveries.
Kids' Costume Contest |
2008-10-31
The Halloween celebration in Fells Point got kicked off by the children's costume contest. Some as young as a foot, others a bit more lanky, but equally as enthusiastic as the adults who followed.
Halloween 2008 (Max's On Broadway) |
2008-10-31
Once you're sufficiently impressed by the crowd turning out for the Halloween bash in Fells Point every year, complete with costume contests hosted by 98Rock for all age groups 3-100, you are certain to get even more stupified by the realization that the crowd you just witnessed on the street is promptly doubled by those inside the fine watering holes of the old sailor quarters.
Halloween 2008 (Christ and Company) |
2008-10-31
I've been told that Christ could teach me a thing or two if I only opened my heart and soul, but I never expected to find Christ
in the company of
Thing 1 and Thing 2 - plus Sarah Palin, the Jamaican Bobsled Team and two cute dominatrix/police/male-phantasy types to boot.
Halloween Lantern Parade - After Party (1) |
2008-10-26
The weather couldn't have been nicer on a rain date, such as the one set for the Halloween Lantern Parade in Patterson Park. Although a school night, the place was buzzing with families past their bed time, and for good reason.

Halloween Lantern Parade : Stilts (2) |
2008-10-26
I cannot tell you how many tall people I have seen at various festivities across many lands. ANd then there are the circus performances. Still, somehow it just does not get old. People on stilts is always an eye catcher.
Fire Dance and Beat Boxing |
2007-10-28
We were entertained by several performances, and here I primarily refer to the professionals, not the self-proclaimed party-goers. Hula hoopers, belly and fire dancers and a beat boxer made for a grant old time, and no easy challange to be captured.
Time Flies When You're Having Fun |
2007-10-27
Time flies when you're having fun, even if it stands still on the giant brightly lit clock just as you enter Housewerks. I was also grateful for the light it shed in an otherwise - in proper Halloween mood, mind you - dimly lit space, nearly impossible to photograph.
Downstairs, a.k.a The Cocktail Lounge |
2007-10-27
We quickly discovered the bar, i.e. the kegs set up downstairs and relaxed to find that we fit in just fine with the other intergalactic creatures coming in no lesser variety then those in any of Star Wars' watering holes.
The 'Poster Room' |
2007-10-27
Like every self-respecting, pumpkin carving, candy freaking exhibitionist American, we too started the Halloweeen throwdown as early as possible and have already marked our calendars for the late ones. Our first official invitation (as that of a 100+ people) was to Housewerks', an industrial salvage company's hangar of a space littered with artifacts of now defunct or non-existent buildings once housing businesses, schools, churches, etc. The space is brilliant, located in historic Banyard Station, in the industrial park of Pigtown.
Pumpkin Carving |
2007-10-14
This has been an unusually warm Autumn around here. There's no better way to measure it but by the number of days your Jack-O-Lantern lasts on your front porch. We are on our second batch in this panorama, and - likely - by the time you read this, we will be having our third go. Wouldn't wanna be without them for the pretty witches and handsome pirates come Halloween. Or perhaps I just enjoy the carving and the baked seeds beyond my age.
